Surface Design Show 2017 round-up
This year the Business Design Centre was buzzing with architects, interior designers, manufacturers and artisans – showing off their new designs, scouting out the latest products or looking for surface materials to specify for projects. Our design team got their cameras out to seek out the latest trends, and he’s what we found (click the images to get the look with wallcoverings):
Crackled
Crackled plaster panels and cracked tile effects in matte, gloss and metallic effects.
Embossed
Self-coloured patterns and intricate embossing – lace, floral, architectural, painterly and abstract effects.
Geometric
This year’s geometrics had an artisanal, bespoke feel. Inlaid surfaces and one-off designs.
Wood
A new look for wood with black, charred surfaces. Engineered panels and artistic designs.
Gold
Gold and brass combined with matte white and wood. Inlaid with geometrics, gold highlights on embossed surfaces, gilded raw surfaces, embellished textures.
