Case Study: Welwyn Grange Care Home – a Home from Home
Welwyn Grange challenges most people’s expectations of what a Residential Home offers. This family-owned new build care home is designed to be both ‘fit for purpose’ but also be ‘a home from home’ for its residents. The home is made up of individual households of no more than 16 ensuite bedrooms, each having their own air-conditioned lounge and dining areas, as well as access to facilities including a hair salon, private dining room and cinema room.
Newmor are well known for promoting British design and craftsmanship – their wallcoverings are made here in the UK and specified in projects across the world. So, it came as an unexpected surprise when they were tagged on social media post by Kookiwood, a vintage furniture restorer. We caught up with MD David Johnston, to find out what got the team so super excited, he said, “It is a genuine delight to see our wallcoverings being reimagined by a true artisan. We promote artists through our designer collection, but we never expected to see our wallcoverings used in furniture restoration.”
