Meet the Team – Leon Jordaan and Paul Koppers

This month we’re introducing two of the driving forces behind Newmor Netherlands; Paul Koppers, our Netherlands co-director, and Leon Jordaan, our brand new Country Sales Manager.

Before Paul and Leon became colleagues, they were first and foremost good friends who share a love of music, art and the occasional BBQ. With decades of combined experience, they’re growing Newmor’s presence across Europe one conversation at a time.

Read on to learn more about their work, creative passions, and favourite bands…

Name: Paul Koppers

What is your role at Newmor, and what does a typical day look like for you?

Now, that is a complicated one I am afraid. I am responsible for Latin America, south of Mexico, 9 European territories and Algeria. And I am co-director of Newmor BV in the Netherlands. I guess we should focus on the latter.

Time at Newmor: Since early 2021

What’s it like working alongside each other as friends?
Some might say, don’t do that! But as a matter of fact, it works really well! Our philosophy of how to do business is remarkably similar. We both have mastered the technique of listening before we speak. We respect each other’s capabilities and experience. And we share the same (somewhat odd) humour….

What’s your favourite thing about your role?
To explore and develop!

Name: Leon Jordaan

What is your role at Newmor, and what does a typical day look like for you?
Country Sales Manager The Netherlands, building up the brand and the sales office in the Netherlands, working 1 to 2 days at home and 3 to 4 days on the road to meet designers and installers to tell them about our beautiful product.

Time at Newmor: I started on 1 July 2025, I’m brand new!

What’s your first impression of working at Newmor?
Newmor already feels like a family, great fun people who are always open for a serious conversation and a relaxed laugh.

What’s your favourite thing about your role?
The best part of the job is still the diversity and meeting people who are passionate about beautiful interiors and open to socialising and fun.

Favourites

Paul

Food: Some say I am obsessed by food, but that’s not true, it’s just a rather focused hobby! I just like to cook. From Chinese to Mexican cuisine and everything in between. Always curious and willing to learn. And not afraid to fail…(yes, things burn once in a while)
Film

Artist: Carel Willink, Dutch painter, 20th century. Imaginary Realism style. As a kid I was already fascinated by his dream like, dark and rather ominous paintings. His paintings don’t reflect my mood by the way. Quite the opposite!

Band: Played guitar in a band myself for years. I like a wide variety of music styles (as long as it’s not mainstream, Dutch folk music and/or too smooth). But main focus is on UK bands. And my favourite band at the moment is from Wales! The Bug Club.

Leon

Film: Everthing Guy Ritchie, Quentin Tarantino, Coen Brothers & Tom Ford
Films that throw you to every corner of the room with an eye for stunning visuals and a good sense of humour, that’s the absolute best.

Band: that’s a big question….
From Queens of the Stone Age to Fred Again, I attend (often with Paul) many concerts and also festivals. Discovering new bands in the smallest possible venue is brilliant…. But standing on a field with 50,000 people jumping along to Born Slippy by underworld is also the bomb.

Hobby: BBQ and Painting (art)
In my free time I’m a Amateur BBQ enthusiast, with my nexdoor neighbour we form a team and did some BBQ contest and won 2 years in a row.
I also paint, for as long as I can remember I have been drawing. in 2014 I discovered painting and to this day I make about 2 to 3 paintings a year. alternating commissions from family, friends and colleagues with my own works, still exploring what I can do and where my limits are.

A massive thank you to both Paul and Leon for taking part in this instalment of our meet the team series! To see more of our team’s instalments, go to our blog.
