In this month’s instalment of “Meet The Team,” we’re excited to introduce Janine Jukes, our Specification Sales Manager for the North West and Yorkshire at Newmor. Although Janine has only been with us for a year, her background in the commercial interiors industry and her passion for building relationships have quickly made her an integral part of our team.

Join us as we talk about Janine’s daily responsibilities, her journey through the commercial interiors industry, and what she loves most about her role at Newmor. Beyond her professional life, Janine shares her love for travel, her connection with horses, and her enthusiasm for Zumba, Janine brings positive energy and warmth to our team. What is your role at Newmor, and what does a typical day look like for you?

I’m the Specification Sales Manager for the North-West & Yorkshire. A regular day would include meetings with Interior Designers, presenting new collections, and trying to see where we can help with projects that are being worked on or are at the concept stage; building relationships and hopefully making friends, after all, Newmor are a friendly bunch!

How long have you been with Newmor, and what brought you here?

I’ve just been here for one year.

You’ve worked in the commercial interiors industry before – can you tell us a little bit about your career and what led you to your current role at Newmor?

I come from a textile/upholstery background, but I have previously worked on the contract and production side so I have a full and varied understanding of the interiors sector.

What are your favourite parts about your job?

I like meeting people and love it when they get enthusiastic about the product.

Favourite:

Hobby: Horse riding. Horses are my go-to, my peaceful place. They truly are majestic, sensitive and intelligent creatures. I’ve shared many stories with certain special horses through the years.  I’m a hands-on person with them; from the mucking out, to trudging through knee-deep mud in winter, to bringing them in. I have many a tale to tell of riding experiences – epic falls, being dragged, galloping along beaches & swimming in the sea.  It’s just the best!

Place: I love travelling; I’ve worked in the industry for a long time so I’ve been very lucky to visit some amazing places with work. I love a white sandy beach; like Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. I loved New York, what a place to get your step count in! Canada is stunning too; I’ve been on a working ranch in summer and skied many times in the Banff area with its amazing snow and views. The Greek Islands and Cyprus are on the list too.

Activity: Zumba. It’s loads of fun, makes you smile, and I love the music. It’s a great way to stay fit! When I was a very young pup I got picked to be in the North West Latin American formation Team, trained by Jean Greaves – for all the Come Dancing fans (back in the day- if you knew you knew!).
