It’s a wrap!

from everyone at Newmor!

It’s been another busy year here at Newmor. We thought it might be nice to end the year with a bit of a round-up… We started 2017 by kicking off our 50th anniversary celebrations at Heimtex in Frankfurt where we previewed our collections for 2017. We were excited to be chosen to showcase our designs in various trend presentations around the show, including the Theme Park (we’re there again in January).

Then we moved straight on to the BCFA Open at the Truman Brewery in London, where we previewed our new Newmor Custom collection, Nomad and our collaboration with artist, Stephen Walter.

Nomad is all about layers of texture, pattern and metallics create an eclectic global look. Artisanal crafts, ikats, natural surfaces and landscapes, all in an earthy vegetable dye palette.

Our Stephen Walter collaboration has already been a huge success, in London in particular. Stephen, a graduate of the Royal College of Art, creates intricate maps which when printed onto wallcoverings retain their original hand drawn quality.

In June we launched our Mid-Century Modern collection. The eight designs were influenced by the bold patterns and colour palettes of the 1960s, each with a contemporary twist.

In September we launched a brand new selection of wallcoverings, including Leaves and Loom. Leaves is a large scale but delicate skeletal leaf pattern which comes in a nine shadowdy, inky palette. Loom is a contemporary grasscloth effect in earthy tones inspired by the autumnal Welsh countryside surrounding our factory.

In November we exhibited at Sleep. It was a smashing year… we previewed our brand new Newmor Custom collection for 2018, we won The BCFA’s Best Stand Award, and Stonehill Taylor won the Sleep Set competition for their design which featured our wallcoverings.

We always eagerly await the announcement of Pantone Colour of the Year and this time we had an inkling that a purple tone might be involved. Following 2017’s refreshing Greenery, next year’s dramatic and provocative purple shade, Ultra Violet, communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking. Read our blog post here.

So that’s a wrap for 2017! We’re kicking 2018 off in style at Heimtex. Then keep an eye out for our launch in February, when we’ll be introducing new textures, a new Newmor Custom collection and an exciting new Newmor Designer collaboration!
