Heimtextil 2017
Heimtextil is the biggest and most important international trade fair for home and contract textiles. The first trade fair of the year for its sector, it is a climate and trend barometer for the whole business year.
The Theme Park is always first on the list of places to visit at the fair. The inspirational area features textiles by exhibitors and showcases key trends for the following year. Driven by the vision of reinvigorating our curiosity, the Theme Park showcases a variety of innovative materials, textures and new patterns and invites visitors to see the rest of the trade fair through fresh eyes.
This year at Heimtex the trends focused on the concept of exploration, looking at four key areas – Natural Exploration, Planetary Exploration, Virtual Exploration and Cultural Exploration. Many of our designs and textures were showcased to illustrate the trends. Keep reading to find out more about each one, and see our stand, including a sneak peek of our next Newmor Designer collaboration…
Heimtextil trend 1 – Natural Explorations
Natural Explorations is all about textures and colours from nature, with a futuristic twist. Materials are innovative and sustainable and prints are influenced by plants through a microscope. Greens, white, fresh pastels, nudes and smooth clean surfaces paired with chunky textures for an apothecary feel.
Heimtextil trend 2 – Planetary Explorations
Planetary Explorations juxtaposes intense, dark tones with ethereal, shimmering hues, and intense pigmented brights. Mirror metallics, glossy and iridescent effects sit next to powdery minerals and crumbling lunar surfaces.
Heimtextil trend 3 – Virtual Explorations
Heimtextil trend 4 – Cultural Explorations
Cultural Explorations collates layers of textures, prints and materials for an international, eclectic look. Artisanal crafts, natural grass weaves, ikats, chunky organic textures, animal skins and vegetable dyes.
And last but not least take a look at our stand… we were more than excited that our Watercolour Botanical design was entered into the Best Design at Heimtextil competition:
