After graduating from Chelsea School of Arts, Augustus Kotei established a design studio in London. Patternistas award-winning studio has built a reputation for creating eye-popping, decorative products and spaces that stimulate the senses and put smiles on faces. Never short of inspiration, the duo advocate that design is a lifestyle and not a job, "At home or abroad, on a bike or on foot, night or day, our life is an intense game of i-spy; peering at ripples in puddles, staring at shadows of trees. Collecting, absorbing, recording, creating; patterns underpin how we see the world."

Stephen Walter's drawings are a tangle of signs, words, and images that draw the viewer into the artist's intricate worlds. Best known for his series of hand-drawn maps, made in enormous detail and layered with both visual and textural information. Each work is an intricate world; a tangle of words and symbols that make up a complex world of hidden meaning and wider contradictions. Through drawing, photography, and printmaking, his artworks explore the meaning of objects and our place in the world.

We worked with 2LG to create designer wallcoverings for the show apartment at Balfron Tower. The hand drawn designs formed the basis of our collaboration. The design is a hand-drawn pattern that fades out towards the top of the walls and onto the ceilings. The print retains the sketchy quality of the original drawings and was printed into mint and lilac for the bedrooms and onto our mylar base for the hallway.
