Collaboration with Rocke Design Studio
Rocke is the in-house design brand of Cotterell & Co, established to design and make exclusive lighting designs with the focus on bespoke handcrafted lampshades. We collaborated on a new range of lampshades which were launched at Scottish Interiors Showcase, against a backdrop of our new Manhattan design.
“Rocke was born out of our customers’ desire for something very different from the ubiquitous cream lampshade. My family business, Cotterell & Co’s heritage is in lampshade manufacture. In 1952 my father, grandfather and grandmother set up a wholesale lighting business focusing on lampshade manufacture and lighting distribution. Over the years, times changed and so did the business, and lampshade manufacture was abandoned over 20 years ago.
Going back to our design and manufacturing roots is the fulfilment of a long cherished dream and so it seemed fitting to name our house design brand in honour of and after my father Rocke Cotterell.” – Lorraine Cotterell
Rocke develop collections taking inspiration from art, nature and the world around us to design and handcraft exquisite lampshades covered in an endless range of fabrics sourced from UK and European design houses which are then paired with our exclusive collections of floor and table lamps or made into pendant light fixtures.
With a nod to the effortless elegance of the art deco era this small scale geometric design featuring clean lines and metallic highlights is the perfect companion to our Brushed Steel texture. This wide width, commercial quality fabric-backed vinyl is perfect for commercial interiors and high traffic areas.
