Hiedi Lazenby Design was commissioned to deliver the architectural interior design scheme for this luxury 104 bed new-build care facility and briefed to include the highest standards of dementia design with the needs of residents, visitors and staff at the forefront.

She said, “Key elements of the design brief included the owners desire to reflect both high-end luxury and a homely look and feel. I was tasked to design multiple and innovative communal areas, to enhance residents’ well-being and their quality of life.

“I incorporated the latest and best practice in ‘dementia design’ when looking at the overall space planning and interior schemes. Ensuring the design reflected how residents might better interact with their visitors and of the well-being of staff. I love what we have created, and I’m delighted we are an SBID International Design Awards 2024 finalist.”

Welwyn Grange is an amazing, life affirming place to live. Selecting the right products was central to creating the overall look and feel of this beautiful and unique facility.
