Ibis Styles, Birmingham pays homage to the city’s history with edgy, industrial-inspired interior

Situated 10 minutes from Broad Street and the vibrant uptown area of Birmingham, is the newly opened ibis Styles Birmingham Hagley Road. Ideal for tourists and business travellers alike, it’s located a short drive away from the Rag Market and Bullring shopping centre and boasts excellent transport links to Birmingham’s main stations.

We supplied our Ashlar Block wallcovering for the restaurant and bar areas, a cobalt blue Shoreline for the bedrooms and Darnell for common areas and bedrooms.

Inspired by the rich manufacturing and industrial history of the city, themes of Birmingham’s past run through every room and space in the hotel. Furniture includes carefully restored original factory pieces and modern interpretations of industrial style; bare metals and exposed concrete are complemented by brightly coloured furnishings and stand out features include Chesterfield sofas, vintage laboratory-style stools and colourful cityscape prints.

Bedrooms have a cavernous feel, with deep metallic hues and hidden archways. Artistic prints adorn the walls, adding to the postmodern contemporary vibe. Honouring the textile houses which once called Birmingham home, carpets feature geometric designs, in perfect contrast to the block colours of the walls.
