Hotel Intercontinental O2

We explored nautical tones and textures at one of our recent projects, The Intercontinental O2. This 5-star hotel, part of the Greenwich Peninsula regeneration, has stunning panoramic views of the London skyline and has been designed to feature a contemporary British style with elegant nautical touches.

It was important from the onset to create a unique luxury hotel product with character, timeless design and elegance, whilst offering dynamic and versatile spaces to meet the needs of all the hotel’s guests. Each aspect and area of the Intercontinental has its own theme and identity. For example, the lobby was designed as the hub of the hotel and replicates that of a ‘lighthouse’, providing a safe haven for guests to return to again and again. The lobby, with its high ceilings and impressive light features, creates a spectacular entrance for leisure guests, whilst for business delegates, the large space facilitates for large bookings with multifunctional elements. From the lobby, guests can experience the Meridian Lounge, a space inspired by London’s Greenwich Mean Time and voyages of the East India trading company, bringing unique items back to London from Asia, this luxurious lounge brings together all the characteristics of the hotel offering synergy for both leisure and business purposes.

We supplied a variety of wallcoverings for the guest rooms, corridors, health suite, common rooms and the ballroom – one of the largest in Europe. From chunky, geometric prints and embossed like Chase, to more subtle textile prints like Darnell, and organic woven textures and real silk wall coverings.

We also printed bespoke site-specific skyline and nautically inspired wallcoverings for areas around the hotel including public areas and guest rooms. Learn more about our digitally printed wallcoverings here.
