How did you get into Design?

I’ve always been creative and during education it was the only time I really listened when it was art class! I started to research ways I could potentially make money as an artist from quite early on. I started screen-printing initially and fell in love with layering colours on top of each other and creating unusual shapes, telling stories with compositions.

What inspires your work?

I’m inspired by many things including the sea, music, and human behaviour. I like to travel often and take notice of things around me.

You’re well known for your fun and expressive use of colour. What colour brings you the most joy?

I would have to say pink as it is a colour not often seen in the public eye.

Your designs are very high energy. What gives you energy and motivates you to create?

I am naturally motivated and like to compete with myself, creating challenges and seeing how I can improve my creative practice each day. I’m always scheming and thinking of ways I can bring my style into public spaces, maybe that same energy is translated in my work.

What’s been your most enjoyable project to work on?

I’d say the murals I painted in Bridgewater Commons Shopping Centre as I got to fly to the US to paint them with my dad!

The design industry is very fast-moving place. How do you make sure your work is stays relevant and innovative?

I always create work which is true to myself and don’t like to follow “trends”. I always design artwork which fits perfectly with its’ surroundings.
